Kick-off meeting of LIFE16 projects

LIFE byProtVal participated in the kick-off meeting of the LIFE projects approved in the call for 2016.

On 17th and 18th October 2017, the MCE Conference & Business Centre, in Brussels, hosted the kick-off meeting of the LIFE - Environment and efficiency of resources Projects that had been approved in the call for 2016.

During the first day, four parallel sessions discussed technical issues relating to the different projects. LIFE byProtVal participated in the session “Resource Efficiency/Waste 1”.

After the presentation of different projects, representatives of EASME (Executive of the Committee European Agency for small and medium-sized industries) and NEEMO (external monitoring and support to the broadcasting team) made an analysis of each project, indicating their strengths and possible weaknesses, engaging in a discussion on how to deal with them in order to ensure the adequate development of the project and subsequent sustainability, replicability and transferability.

In addition, representatives of the DG-Environment of the European Commission, EASME and NEEMO presented the novelties of the Circular Economy Package, as well as main particularities of the LIFE programme regarding management, dissemination and justification of projects.

Finally, it is worthy to point out that the event allowed to initiate the first networking actions with projects related to LIFE byProtVal.

Sardinia Symposium 2017

LIFE byProtVal launching was announced at the LIFE Programme Workshop that was held on 2nd October 2017 in Sardinia, in the framework of the 16th International Waste Management & Landfill Symposium.

The International Waste Management and Landfill Symposium is a biennial event that has become the Reference Forum in the field of Waste Management for the international community, where state of the art concepts, strategies and technologies are presented and experiences shared by leading scientists, administrators and practitioners. In its 16th edition (Sardinia2017), held on 2nd to 6th October 2017, the Symposium was structured in eight parallel tracks, a poster session and an exhibition area where the LIFE Programme had a space.

On 2nd October, sessions F1 and F2 were devoted to the LIFE Programme. Financing opportunities and main results of eight financed projects were presented at such sessions. Here, we had the opportunity of present the newly started LIFE byProtVal.

Besides, dissemination material of LIFE byProtVal was exhibited during the whole Symposium at the LIFE Programme booth.
